A little honesty about where we’re at tonight… 🫶
We try to keep things positive around here (Good Vibes & Pies and all!) but sometimes it feels important to share the hard moments too. Tonight, we’re exhausted, frustrated, and honestly feeling a little defeated.
We’ve been at Captain’s for over 24 hours rotating our fridges on a small generator, doing everything we could to save what we could. Nick has been up since 8am Wednesday, Lauren is running on about two hours of sleep, and DTE only JUST updated our estimated restoration to “Friday, September 4.”
And because apparently a power outage wasn’t enough… we’ve also dealt with patio damage twice, flooding through all three rounds of storms, and a tornado warning that sent us running to the best neighbors ever at Great Harvest Bread Co. Brighton for cover. 😅Thankfully, we’ve had some of the BEST help from our Captain’s family keeping us going (and sane) through all of it. ❤️
We told ourselves we’d give it until midnight, but at this point, we have to throw in the towel and say goodbye to the food we worked so hard to save. (Still hope! If power comes back soon we may still be able to save it.🤞)
We know we’re just one of MANY homes and businesses dealing with the same mess right now. We simply wanted to give our loyal customers a glimpse behind the scenes and explain why, even once the power returns, our doors may stay closed a little longer while we clean, restock, prep, and rebuild.
THANK YOU for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We’ll keep you updated on reopening plans as things change. 🫶🍕
