Yesterday was a day I will never forget. I was asked last summer to return in December and make a Bob Perkins Cuvee. I jumped at the opportunity and yesterday morning I joined my friend Thomas the owner of Ch. Reclos de la Couronne and two consultants from Michel Rolands company. We tasted from 30 barrels and I chose the blend for my special Cuvee. Then in the afternoon I went again to the laboratory with my friend Pierre Emmanuel the owner of Ch Pierhem and we tasted from ten of his barrels and I chose my blend. The Bible verse, "more than we can ask or imagine," has new meaning for me. Now I wait for my blend to be bottled and shipped to the US in 2025. Early Christmas!

I’m overwhelmed by how many fabulous wines there are in the 2016 vintage. We have over 40 for our blind tasting and that is just the Left Bank!
