Welcome to Castello del Vino (est. 1996), specialised in internationally recognised Italian wines mostly from family-run vineyards. Australia, Chile and Argentina. All wines are imported directly from the
vineyards to ensure freshness and the highest quality. Our holding company and wholesale division, Valdivia Ltd (est. 1975) is HK's largest and most specialised importer/distributor
of Italian wi

nes, and was one of HK's first wine importers in the days when only French wines were available. A family owned and managed company, we strive to source wines from smaller independent and family owned producers as
well as from larger, world-renowned wineries. We carry over 500 different wines ranging from the Northern Alpine regions
down to the sunny Mediterranean islands. Each of our wines is carefully selected by us for its character, style, value,
and has travelled only once in its life-time before arriving in our warehouse. Freshness and authenticity are guaranteed. As well as supplying private clientele, our wines are also listed in top hotels, restaurants, clubs and bars. With over 30 year's experience, Castello del Vino has the expertise and knowledge to offer the best selection of Italian
wines in town. To accompany our extensive wine selection, a large range of delicious traditional Italian food products
are also available including regular air-shipments of parma ham, various salami's and a wide assortment of cheese.

A moment from 40 years ago at Le Lame, the Zanobini vineyards in the historical San Casciano Val di Pesa, Toscana.
Mr. Zanobini, one of the founding brothers, with our founder, Mrs. Annelis Capelvenere and Mr. Dino Capelvenere 🇮🇹

The Zanobini brothers also founded in 1944, which still exists in the same location in Florence, 50m from the Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo. Today, it is run by their sons, Marco and Simone and they showcase 2,500 wine labels.
If you find yourself in Florence, head to this historical family-owned enoteca for a glass of their Chianti Classico and uno Spuntino Pane Toscano. 🇮🇹🍞🍷

In this photo archive, you will see Grape Treading (“Pigiatura”), that’s not just tradition, it’s winemaking with your feet. 🍇✨
One of the earliest visual representations of this practice appears on a Roman Empire sarcophagus from the 3rd century AD.
Stomping helped break the grape skins and release the juice gently, kick-starting the flavours by influencing how much colour, tannin, and character are pulled from the skins.
In simple terms: the way the grapes are handled early on, can shape the wine’s structure, richness, and overall taste—from fresh & bright to deeper & more layered. 🍷

Since 1975, Valdivia, the Pioneer Italian wine importer to HK, has been bringing from just about every corner of la Bella Italia for HK’s enjoyment!
