We have a huge selection of fabulous w**es and b**rs here at the Bottle & Jug. The one complaint we get regularly is that it gives people choice anxiety.

We'll take that as a compliment! :-)

Graeme made a beautiful creamy pasta dish last night, and we happened to have a bottle of Te Whare Rā W**es 'Riesling D' open, so we thought it would pair beautifully. What we discovered? That garlic and spinach (filled pasta) have compounds that can strip the nuance and delicate notes from a high acidity / low sugar w**e and leave it with a slightly bitter twang. Sacrilege to such a beautiful w**e! Food pairing almost always impacts the w**e, rather than the food, if you get it wrong. Live & learn!
