Come and pick one up; even if you don't fancy walking you might discover something about the area that you didn't already know.

What a great charity to support and a vital service for up here and surrounding areas.

At Newton Park this term, the children are fundraising for the Scottish Air Ambulance Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA; we aim to win a visit from the helicopter to the playground.
The children have lots planned later this month - a Bring n buy sale, laps of the playground and a helicopter drive (game) in class.

Highland Broadband are digging up the pavement outside the shop today so please take care in making your way to us - we ARE open, normal hours as always. You won't want to miss your Bank Holiday ice cream! As well as your very favourite Rizza's and Capaldis you might find some Orkney ice cream out too and, of course, there are the doggy tubs especially for our four footed furries. Depending on how the works encroach directly in front of the shop, we might have to take the doggy water bowl away while they are going on but it will be back as soon as it's safe for your dog to be there.

We now have a new phone number, to replace our old land line. This number is not going to be set up on Google or other search engines to avoid the quantity of spammy/scammy calls we get. People/genuine companies who need to contact us already have details. It will be just here, within our details and is 07350275226 :D

From midnight tonight we will no longer have a telephone land line available for you to call us. BT are preparing our system for their digitalisation and, because we receive countless spam calls during the course of the day, mainly from abroad so the Telephone Preference Service does not stop them, we have decided to do away with the land line altogether. We will have a mobile number available shortly but if you need a reminder of our opening hours, they can always be found on this page or by Googling Meiklejohns Confectioners or you can message us through the page.
UPDATE 1.4.25 We have removed the land line phone number from this page and from our Google presence, it will remain on some others as the site owners are the ones who add or remove content. A mobile contact number will be available shortly.
