It’s English Wine Week! 🍷 While Sussex is famed for its sparkling wines, Essex — and especially the Crouch Valley — is now leading the way in top-quality still wine.

Thanks to more sunshine and less rainfall than almost anywhere else in the UK, Essex offers ideal conditions for ripening grapes. The Crouch Valley’s unique microclimate and free-draining soils make it a standout for varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

No wonder producers like Chapel Down and Lyme Bay are sourcing fruit from here — but it’s estates like Danbury Ridge and New Hall that are proving Essex can rival, and even surpass, the best still wines in the country.

Throwing it back to Brentwood Art Trail fun in Shenfield! 🙌

As big lovers of art ourselves, it was great to share this passion with the people of Shenfield. We were joined by the official Brentwood Art Trail guided tour, where those on the tour took in the arty surrounds of The Tasting Room.

We also had a brilliant Q&A session with Thomas Heddon, whose fantastic miniature worlds are currently on display in our shop window. If you haven't seen them already, don't miss out - they're really great!

Of course, we also had fun for all of the family in the form of the Brentwood Art Trail Scribble Boards, led by artists Mike Young and Heidi Simm, in support of SNAP Charity. ✏️

Thank you to everyone that stopped by last Saturday and supported us in one way or another. It's always a pleasure to have you all here! Also a big thank you to Villene and Sarah of Brentwood Connected for organising such a great day of creativity for the borough.

Something we pride ourselves on is our wine knowledge, and being able to impart that knowledge onto our customers. The knowledge of our team of Wine Buffs allows us to be able to guide you when choosing a bottle of wine, so that you know that you're getting the best possible bottle to suit the occasion, food pairing or budget. 🍷
