Steel City Reyt Smoky Dram🥃💨
Steel City Wh**ky returns with their new, youthful peated release. After the success of their first Edition One Speyside bottle, Ilya and Jared from Integrity Malts have released just 150 bottles of Steel City Wh**ky Edition One Peated for those who love a smoky dram.
Local artist Luke Horton has again done the artwork. Who can remember the old Blackburn Meadows Power Station at Tinsley with the two huge cooling towers?
Nose - Bonfire smoke, charred wood and warm embers. Fresh lemon peel and crisp orchard fruit cut through the smoke, followed by caramel, toasted almonds and a touch of vanilla
Palate - Ash, smouldering oak and earthy peat are wrapped around sweet pear, citrus and buttery caramel. There’s a lovely oily weight to the spirit, with roasted nuts, cracked pepper and a touch of dark chocolate developing towards the back of the palate.
Nose - Long, warming and unmistakably smoky. Dry bonfire ash and charcoal linger alongside salted caramel, citrus peel and toasted nuts, before gradually fading into a final wisp of sweet, earthy smoke.
