Wondering what to do in this lovely sunny weather? ☀️
How about Herding Cats?
Not literally, obviously- that would be silly in this heat.
On the other hand, enjoying a nice crisp glass of our current Special, ‘Herding Cats’ Grüner Veltliner in a shady corner of the BB garden, sounds like just the right level of exertion on a day like today.

It’s been a busy few weeks at BB and beyond - here are some of the highlights:
1-4: great evening at on May 7th. Thank you to Amita and her team for inviting us to pair our wines with their delicious food and thanks to all of our guests for helping to make it such a memorable evening….
5: Some of our guests’ favourite wines from the Masala Junction event: ‘La Long Bec’ Touraine Chenonceaux Blanc which went very well with an Avocado Golgappa starter; Eins Zwei Dry Rheingau Riesling from which was delightful with the Amritsari Fish and the ‘Tom and the Peloton’ Ventoux Rouge which was a great partner for the Lamb Tak Tak curry. Plenty of deliciousness all round!
6-7: Thank you to this group of medical professionals who travelled from far and wide for a BB private tasting (and possibly also for a work thing) last week. We had a lovely time exploring South American wines together!
8-10: Another two ‘Crisp & Wine Pairing’ evenings done! Last Thursday the overall favourite partnership was Tyrrells Veg Crisps and ‘Le Mechanique du Vin’ Orange Wine whilst last night it was Frazzles and Crozes-Hermitage. Honorable mention to my favourite duo: Wotsits and Manzanilla Sherry. Last night we had a number of ‘sherry refusers’ in the crowd; the jury’s still out as to whether they’ll be allowed back.
11-15: Last week we visited for the first time and had a lovey evening. Great food, wine and service! Thank you to .lah.loire for looking after us so well. Highly recommend a visit if you haven’t yet been.

She passed away in 2015. Her financial support helped me to set up Brigitte Bordeaux a few years later. So, it feels right to honour her memory here with a glass of something lovely.

We didn’t take any photos but we did have a jolly good time at last night’s ‘Grape Hits and Trivia Sips’ Tasting & Quiz.
Well done to team ‘Rioja n’ Roll’ for their impressive quiz victory.

Two tastings done this week, one more to go! 😊
We had a great time tasting our way around the Balkans on Tuesday evening.
As usual, favourites were varied but the Perenitza Pinot Noir from Romania, which is one of our bestselling wines and a steal at only £10.99 a bottle, got a lot of love. As did a lovely traditional method sparkling wine from Slovenia and a fabulous Gamay/Vranac blend from Serbia which was so vibrant and juicy, you’d never guess it packs a whopping 15.5% abv.
Thanks to all who joined us for our tour of the Balkans and especially to Martin for choosing to spend his birthday with us. We hope you all had a great evening.
Last night saw the return of our Italian wine and pizza pairing evening. Huge thanks to Adam from for dishing up the perfect pizzas to pair with our selection of Italian wines. Lots of deliciousness all round!
Thanks to everyone who joined us last night and to those who stopped by for pizza and wine before the event. And Happy Birthday, Lisia! 🥳 Thanks for celebrating with us. 🍕🍷
