We’ve sipped our way through some cracking wines at our last two tasting events…
We explored wines from high altitude vineyards on Saturday afternoon and from old vines last night and could clearly see the benefits of altitude and vine age in a range of really interesting, expertly crafted bottles.
From Argentina to Armenia; Macedonia to Mount Sutherland and the Bekaa Valley to the Barossa Valley, both tastings were a World Tour of Wonderful Wines.
Thank you to everyone who joined us.
Cheers! 🍷

We had a lovely time pairing wine with crisps in the garden yesterday evening …
The Blanc de Noirs Champagne and the Crozes-Hermitage were the most popular wines (pairing very well with Salt ‘n’ Vinegar McCoys and Frazzles respectively), whilst the favourite crisps were the Torres Black Truffle Crisps and the Bret’s Bleu d’Auvergne DOP Blue Cheese Crisps (delicious with the Royal Oporto Ruby Port).
The most popular pairings were the Sumo Cat Riesling with Nice ‘n’ Spicy Nik Naks and the Babich Marlborough Pinot Noir with the Black Truffle Crisps.
Thank you to our lovely guests for coming along and making it such an enjoyable evening.
Cheers! 🍷

Obrigada to Patricia from and Marta from for guiding us through some great Vinho Verde wines last Tuesday.
From , our guests particularly liked the Alvarinho and the Vinhão.
If you’re looking for a nice summer red to drink slightly chilled, we always recommend the Este Vinhão Vinho Verde: zippy and fresh with juicy dark berry fruit and a hint of fizzy cola cube, it’s a perfect wine to accompany your summer BBQs and is great value at only £13.99.
We ended the evening with Marta presenting two new wines that she imports from the small producer : a white made from the Loureiro grape and a pet nat. Both low intervention and characterful, they really showcased the diversity of high quality wines coming from the Vinho Verde region.
Cheers! 🥂🇵🇹

Huge thanks to Silvia from for guiding us through the wines of two wineries that she is brand ambassador for in Sicily and Sardinia at our Italian Islands tasting on Thursday evening.
The Sicilian producer, and from Sardinia were two of our top discoveries (or rediscoveries) at the portfolio tasting in London in February, resulting in our invitation to Silvia to come and share their wines with our customers.
Sardinia just pipped it for ‘Island of the Evening’ on Thursday with their Cannonau Riserva proving particularly popular.
If you missed the tasting, you can currently drink the Regaleali Bianco by the glass in our bar and next week we’ll be adding the ‘Soprasole’ Vermentino di Sardegna and ‘Centosere’ Cannonau di Sardegna to our Specials Board.
Come down and give them a try.
Cheers! 🍷🇮🇹

We were thrilled to provide the drinks reception for this year’s Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature lecture at Nottingham Central Library last week.
The lecture was delivered by the inspirational Baroness Lola Young. After a childhood spent in care, Young has gone on to forge a remarkable career as an actor, author, activist, crossbench peer (one of the first black women in the House of Lords), and, since 2020, Chancellor of the University of Nottingham. She has long championed social justice and creative expression.
Her lecture, entitled ‘Setting the Angel Free: Creative Expression and Social Action’, passionately discussed the impact and power of literacy on children’s lives and how we can all unlock our creativity and set the angel free.
A brilliant lecture and event, celebrating our city’s dedication to storytelling, creativity and literary excellence - we were honoured to play a small part!
If you need drinks, glassware and staff for an event you are organising, get in touch.
Cheers! 🍷

Last Tuesday, Richard Kelley MW guided us through ten standout wines that he imports from the Loire Valley.
When the votes were counted at the end of the evening, two of our guests’ favourite wines were the 2022 ‘Le Haut Lieu’ Sec Vouvray and the 2005 Moulin Touchais Coteaux du Layon.
Few wineries can rival Moulin Touchais’ extraordinary underground collection of historic vintages, a treasure trove of Chenin Blanc wines, all containing between 70 and 80 grams of residual sugar. The wines are all aged for a minimum of 10 years before release and only really come into their own after two decades in bottle, hence the 2005 currently drinking so well! If you’re ever looking for a special vintage, let us know - Richard may well have imported that year’s Coteaux du Layon from Moulin Touchais!
Meanwhile, Domaine Huet’s influence on Vouvray is unparalleled, thanks to Gaston Huet’s vision, which shaped the very reputation of this esteemed appellation. It was also a bottle of 1969 Vouvray from Domaine Huet that sparked our host, Richard Kelley MW’s lifelong love affair with wine!
A huge thank you to Richard for the great wines and the great stories and to our guests for helping to make it such a lovely evening.
Cheers! 🍷
