From the first inspiration, through the design process, all the way to the finished product landing on the shelf.

From photography, hand tracing to unique hand sketching and drawing, then digitising the artwork to send to my amazing manufacturers. The process for each design is a long one but it is so rewarding to see my products come to life.

Every Powder Butterfly product is a team effort across the very best of British craft. Stoke-on-Trent potters,
local printers, and every small business in between.

That’s the Powder Butterfly promise.

Celebrating 100 years of Gateshead Central Library šŸ“š

The Library first opened its doors in 1926, and in March 2026 it celebrated a full century at the heart of the Gateshead community.

For generations it has been a place to learn, explore, and connect — and its story is still being written.

This collection of products was co-designed with local people and staff at Gateshead Central Library through my social enterprise Creative Heritage Studios CIC

On launch day I spoke to so many wonderful local people, the collection sold like hot cakes and I got to meet Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Lt. General Robin Brims who was really impressed with the collection.

Here’s to the next 100 years f such an iconic and wonderful place that serves the community of Gateshead so well.

A special thanks to the team at Gateshead Central Library without which this project wouldn’t have been possible.

This is why I love living in the North East of England. The splendor of is something to behold.

Every now and then I gift myself a day off from creating luxury souvenirs to visit places like Raby Castle. As a designer I feel totally inspired by these places. The history, legacy, support for the handmade and artisan crafts are something that I absolutely love.

It’s also so wonderful to see beautiful art installations like Castle in Bloom by renowned florist Anna Potter from

Make sure you catch it before the end of August 2026.

One thing that I would do differently if I started again 😬

If I had to start Powder Butterfly all over again, I’d start it earlier but also be bolder and braver too.

This business isn’t just about me, it’s about all of my suppliers that benefit from it existing and all of my customers who have bought meaningful products too.

Small businesses are so much more than the thing they produce or do, they have such a ripple effect and are a force for good.

Coming šŸ”œ

My first colouring book will be launching soon.
I have had a lot of fun creating patterns and combining them with landmarks.

More will be revealed soon and I am planning on going Live to show you how I create my designs.

Let me know in the comments or on dm if you would like to see me create one of these patterns?
