125 years of history, extraordinary vineyards, remarkable w**es — and a family who still puts their heart and soul into every bottle. ❤️🍷
We were incredibly privileged to spend a very special day at Mouchão this year, celebrating their 125th anniversary alongside a wonderful group of our customers.
Mouchão is one of those rare estates where you immediately understand that the w**e is inseparable from the land, the history and the family who have cared for it for generations.
The vineyards are quite extraordinary. There is an incredible sense of place here, and the approach to the vines and w**emaking remains deeply rooted in tradition, while producing w**es of remarkable depth, character and longevity.
And for us, Mouchão is even more special because of our lovely Sophie, who has worked with us from day one. To be welcomed so warmly into her family’s estate and to share this experience with our own customers made the whole day incredibly personal.
We tasted some truly exceptional w**es — and don’t get us started about the1984. What a w**e! 🍷
Their w**es are always wonderful, but we have to say that the whites this year were particularly extraordinary and, for us, are drinking even better than before. Their freshness, complexity and ability to develop with age are a wonderful reminder of just how special the w**es from this estate are
And then there was the tradition…
We were lucky enough to tread the grapes by foot, just as they have done here for generations. To actually take part in such an ancient and wonderfully hands-on part of the w**emaking process was something we will all never forget.
Add to that the most wonderful food, incredible hospitality, fascinating stories, plenty of laughter and the generosity of the entire family — and it really was the perfect day.
What struck us most was the genuine love and respect this family has for Mouchão. This isn’t simply an historic w**e estate; it is their home, their heritage and their legacy. You can feel that passion in the vineyards, see it in the way the estate is cared for and, ultimately, taste it in the w**es.
A huge thank you to Sophie and the whole family for giving us and our customers such an unforgettable experience.
Great w**e is about far more than what is in the bottle. It’s the land, the people, the history and the stories that make it truly special.
And that 1984… we really are still dreaming about it. ❤️🍷
