Changes are underway in the Heathfield shop!

We'll be closed tomorrow (Monday) and possibly on Tuesday as there is a lot to do. And it will take us a day or two to restock.

We hope you will like the changes - we will post some pictures when it is less like a bomb site.

Rushlake Green is open as usual.

Here’s a glimpse into our deli fridge all stocked up for the weekend. We have local cheeses from Alsop & Walker, Goodweald, Sussex Charmer amongst other favourites.

By popular request we now stock Burrata.

We have hams, salmon, chicken and haddock from Weald Smokery.

Bakers sausages from Catfield are a firm favourite among our customers.

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩 – 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 (𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬!)

We opened our Heathfield shop in December 2025, so we have been open for 9 months. During that time we have built up a loyal following of customers – and we are very grateful to them for supporting us.

In particular people love our local products and, particularly our Sourdoughs, cheeses & hams and our Bread Shed sandwich sales are really picking up.

However our sales have unfortunately not been sufficient to cover our overheads and we need to make some changes to build up our customer base.

We have carried out a bit of market research and spoken to many customers about their perceptions of the shop. Here is some of the feedback we have received:

So next week we will be making some major changes to address some of these concerns. We will closed on Sunday, Monday and possibly Tuesday (Heathfield only).

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠?

Our counter will be moved to the back of the shop. This will make the entrance open and clear, and make entering the shop more welcoming and less scary for new customers.

Our fridges will move to the front of the shop so that people can see our delicious deli products, sandwiches, dips, local yoghurts and meats from the window.

One of our Gondolas will be moved nearer the front of the shop and will showcase some of our local products, cakes, organic products, Christmas items and some of our many products not available in the supermarkets.

We hope that everyone will like these changes and that they will encourage more people to come and shop with us!

A huge *Thank You* to the Chamber of Commerce and a huge *Well Done* to our Jane who did such an amazing job, with the help of Denise! She'll love the hamper when she gets back from holiday.

We're getting used to winning awards! All we need now is customers!
