We're often asked if the 'Roots' in our name is musically inspired, and the answer is YES!⁠
⁠
Long before Vintage Roots was born, music was a big part of our story. From travelling around France in a converted bus to dj-ing reggae gigs, Neil's love of music helped inspire the name we still carry today.⁠
⁠
And while we've swapped the records for organic w**es, that same independent spirit has never left us. Here's to good music, good w**e and staying true to our roots! 🍷🎶

A special bottle from our 40th Tasting last month ✨

Ch*****ne Fleury brought along this beautifully hand-painted 1995 Jeroboam – recreated after the original was sadly broken in the heatwave on the way over.

A lovely piece of Fleury history, and one that felt particularly fitting to have with us as we celebrated four decades of such pioneering producers 🍾

Armed with paper maps and and plenty of curiosity, those early journeys and meeting organic producers helped shape the values that still define us today 🌿

Our own-label Organic Rouge has been part of the Vintage Roots story for decades.⁠

First launched in 1998, it was created to offer a clear, approachable organic w**e at a time when organic w**emaking was still far from the mainstream. ⁠

Over the years the label has evolved, but the idea behind it has stayed the same: good-value and easy-drinking w**e from a Languedoc grower we know and trust. A little piece of our history, still going strong!⁠ 🌱

We came across this bottle recently and thought it summed up Organic September rather nicely.

With so much noise around what we eat and drink, organic can be a simple shortcut to better – for soils, biodiversity and the growers working with nature.

Before the 500+ w**es, there were just 12 w**es listed on one side of an A4 sheet and an office in a front room in Reading.⁠

As part of our 40th anniversary, we’re revisiting Neil original story of how Vintage Roots began, from early travels in France and a love of w**e to building a business around something he and Lance truly believed in.⁠
