Join us for A Spirit at Harvest; an evening with Lochlea Distillery, as summer tips over into harvest time.
Last year Lochlea came to us to launch their first-ever core range. This time they're back at the best moment of the farming year: Lammas, when the first barley comes off the field. And there's no distillery it means more to. Lochlea grow, distil and mature everything on one farm in Ayrshire the same ground Robert Burns once worked so when they pour you a dram, they can trace it right back to the field it came from. Their wh**ky's now shaped by the hand of John Campbell, one of the most respected names in Scotch.
We'll be pouring six drams: the four core expressions, the summery Harvest Edition (fittingly, the very last of that seasonal run), and one we're especially glad to have the Over & Stout, finished in casks from Glasgow's much-missed Overtone brewery. Overtone are no longer with us, which makes this a pour that simply won't come again. So we've saved it a seat at the table.
Whether you're deep into wh**ky already or just here for a warm evening and good company, there's a place for you.
As ever, the drams will be paired with seasonal dishes from the kitchen at 71 Steps.
