With Halloween just around the corner, we want to know…

Who goes all out decorating their house for the trick-or-treaters? 🕷️🕸️ Or are you more of a pumpkin on the doorstep and that’ll do kind of household? 😂

And here’s the big question…

Sweets or fruit for the trick-or-treaters? 🍬🍎

We reckon a few little ghosts and witches might have something to say about that one! 😂

We know Burton Leonard gets plenty of little visitors knocking on doors, so if you’re planning on joining in, we’ve got sweets AND fruit in the shop to help you stock up before Saturday night.

10 YEARS. ONE VILLAGE. SO MANY MEMORIES. ❤️

Well, where on earth have those 10 years gone?! 🥹

This month marks 10 years since we took over Burton Leonard Village Store & Post Office, and looking back at these photos, it’s hard to believe just how much has changed.

The shop has had a few different looks over the years, the shelves have changed, we’ve welcomed new suppliers, new faces behind the counter and plenty of new customers through the door.

We’ve watched little ones grow up, families move into the village, friendships form and familiar faces become part of our everyday routine.

And while a lot has changed in 10 years, one thing hasn’t.

The people who make this little village shop what it is. ❤️

To our customers who’ve supported us from the very beginning, those who’ve joined us along the way, our wonderful staff past and present, and the suppliers who’ve helped us fill our shelves with so many lovely things, thank you.

For every morning coffee, every parcel dropped off, every last-minute pint of milk, every conversation across the counter and every time you’ve chosen to support your local shop.

It’s never been just a shop to us. It’s a place where people meet, catch up, help each other out and feel part of something.

And we’re incredibly lucky to be part of it.

Our Halloween Trail starts on the 26th of October, and we need brave little explorers to venture around the village in search of hidden letter clues.

Pick up your trail map during half term from George Armitage House or the Burton Leonard Village Store & Post Office, then set off on a spooky search around the village. Find all the letters, rearrange them to reveal a scary-themed word, and see if you can crack the code!

Once you’ve solved the mystery, return to our Hub with your answer to claim a Halloween treat 🕸🎃🕷

Well, Storm Austen has arrived and Storm Boelo is on its way… looks like it’s going to be one of those weekends when the bins end up halfway down the street and the dog takes one look outside and decides to hold it in! 😂

No need to panic buy, just a little reminder that we’re here if you need us. ❤️

Who’s here for cosy season? 🍂☕

The leaves falling, damp autumn air, darker mornings and that lovely smell of freshly brewed coffee and a sausage butty. 🥓

There’s something about this time of year, isn’t there? Big coats are making a comeback, the fires being lit and suddenly staying in sounds better than going out! 😂

Well, autumn has definitely arrived, hasn’t it? 🍂☕

Rainy mornings, muddy dog walks and that time of year when you start thinking about what to put in the slow cooker for tea! 😂

If you’re out and about this morning, pop in and warm up with a hot chocolate or a decent cuppa.

And while you’re here, grab a few bits for tonight’s tea. Potatoes, fresh veg, gravy and all those little cupboard essentials that make a proper autumn comfort meal.

Because let’s face it, once you’ve been out in the rain, there’s nothing better than getting home, putting something hearty on the table and settling in for the evening.

Got a kids’ party coming up? 🎈

Before you spend Saturday morning making enough sandwiches to feed the entire village… you know we can do that bit for you, right? 😂

Tell us what you need and we can get the party food sorted, leaving you to deal with the important stuff… like balloons that refuse to stay up, finding the birthday candles and wondering why you invited quite so many children. 😅

And if you’re heading to a party rather than hosting one and suddenly realise you’ve forgotten the card… Have you SEEN how many we’ve got?!

No big Monday motivation speech here!

The kids are through the school gates, you've already said "shoes on" approximately 47 times, and somehow it feels like you've done half a day's work before 9am!

We're ready with a hot breakfast butty and a decent cuppa and let’s not forget a little something for later. One you can actually eat in peace without a small person appearing from nowhere asking, "Can I have some?" 😂

Just good coffee, a proper breakfast and a few familiar faces behind the counter.
