Wild Shark Pinot Noir 2024

Lovely Pinot Noir with red fruits of cherry and raspberry, nice acidity and good fruit. Can handle a bit of chill as well… so perfect for this heatwave. £26.50 and a great addition to our English range.

Anyone who knows us well will know of our love of South African wines.

Spice Route Tarragon Old Vine Chenin Blanc

This Old Vine Chenin Blanc is made with fruit sourced from 1978 vineyards located in the Swartland. The soils consist mainly of koffieklip, a mix of decomposed granite and iron-rich clay, which is known for producing highly concentrated and flavorful wines. Its barrel ferment adding complexity.

Pound for pound this is such a great Chenin and well worth hunting out.

This is a cracker!!!!!

This must be our favourite Australian producer at the moment. Everything we have tried has been bang on. But this Mataro has beautiful freshness and simply delicious.

… we hear from one of our Australian customers that the sparkling Shiraz is right up there and we must try it! Fingers crossed we can snag a case or two.

A few days ago we had a brilliant tasting of Akashi-Tai and their amazing Sake.

Sake is a complex product to get your head around but that said it’s also so full of flavour and complexity it is pretty unique and you have to try!!!!

We have good stocks of 330ml and 720ml bottles and just working on a few offers and opening a few bottles along the way.

We have sold Cuvaison Estate wines for at least 25 years, so we had to jump at this 2018 Cuvaison Pinot Noir, in full flourish when we saw it on a wine list at Goldsborough Hall. The wine had bags of fruit, plenty of spice and wheelbarrow fulls of violets and red fruits. Pure silk in a glass!

Thanks to all the team at Goldsborough Hall for a fantastic dinner and we look forward to watching your kitchen garden grow and enjoy the fruits of your hard work, on the menu in the dinning room.

2021 Reyneke Reserve White - Sauvignon Blanc seeing plenty of oak but that has now melted away just to add a texture and character. Any grassy edge haas now softened with time and this is in a wonderful drinking window.

Friuli Colli Orientali just keeps on filling our shelves with top class Chardonnay…

So we had Miani, then Ronco del Gnemiz and now step up Meroi … we really are spoiled!

Meroi is a family-operated winery based in Buttrio, situated in the Friuli Colli Orientali region of Italy. Founded in 1920 by Domenico Meroi, the estate covers 19 hectares and produces around 35,000 bottles per year.

Renowned for their elegance and richness, Meroi wines are often characterized as being both rich and well-structured, with a vibrant acidity that enhances their full-bodied texture.

This Chardonnay is aged for 8 months in a combination of new and used barriques to aid complexity. On the nose there are enticing; scents of citrus zest, banana, and nuts. Solid and supple structure, featuring mature acidity and fresh herbal undertones that enhance the sweet citrus and oak flavours. The finish is long and precise. £49.99 but a special wine for sure.
