FoodSavers Network The FoodSavers Network aims to help you save money on your weekly shop, save food from going to landfill, and save in a recognised Credit Union scheme.

We have a network of independent affordable food outlets across West Yorkshire. Save money on your weekly shop

FoodSavers offers high quality fresh and store cupboard food for a low weekly membership fee (typically ÂŁ6), at locations across Bradford. Much of our food is unwanted or surplus food, intercepted from being wasted. Membership also gives you the opportunity to attend cookery classes, save in a recognised Credit Union scheme, and enjoy other benefits, dependent on location.

Did you know that last week (17th October) was the official International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. We don't mean to imply that there's still a way to go with this one, but if you want to do your bit to help get that bit closer then here's two ways you can:

1) You can help us eradicate poverty through our network of food pantries by signing up to give us a small (or large!) regular donation at https://innchurches.co.uk/donate/

2) You can directly help somebody in poverty through our wonderful partner Acts 435 - every penny you give goes directly to support a specific need for somebody who can't afford the basics of daily life. Check them out at https://acts435.org.uk/

One week. Three important moments. For FoodSavers this was one connected message

This week we marked World Food Day, celebrated World Credit Union Day and joined the Affordable Food Alliance at the launch of Good Food in Every Postcode in Parliament.

Three different events. Three different conversations. But for us at FoodSavers and Inn Churches, they are deeply connected.

The Affordable Food Alliances parliamentary launch brought the importance of Affordable Food Clubs into the national conversation. These are more than places to access food at a lower cost. They are trusted community assets, creating connection, supporting choice and helping people make their money go further .At FoodSavers, we see what becomes possible when these ideas come together.

World Credit Union Day celebrates the power of people coming together to build financial resilience. Because when household budgets are under pressure, access to affordable food and access to fair, community-based finance cannot be treated as entirely separate challenges.

World Food Day reminds us that food insecurity is about whether people can access the food they need, afford it, and have dignity and choice in what they eat.

Our model connects affordable food with community credit unions, creating opportunities for people to save as they shop, strengthen their financial resilience and keep resources circulating within their communities.Because food insecurity does not happen in isolation. It is connected to household finances, the cost of living, access to resources and the strength of our local communities.And that means our response cannot be isolated either.

We need to move beyond simply managing the symptoms of food insecurity and invest in the community infrastructure that helps prevent it.Food is the invitation. Community is the destination.This week reinforced something we believe deeply: if we want a fairer food system, we must connect food, finance and community — and ensure that the people these systems are meant to serve have a meaningful voice in shaping them.The opportunity now is to turn recognition into investment, collaboration into action, and good intentions into lasting change.

We’re launching Pay It Forward at Yum Pantry ❤️

Sometimes something unexpected happens and even finding £6 for a pantry shop can be difficult. That’s where Pay It Forward can step in and cover a one-off Yum shop for someone in our community.

There are three ways you can help keep Pay It Forward going:

❤️ Donate any points you don’t use from your own Yum shop
❤️ Pop into Yum and make a cash donation
❤️ Donate £1, £2, £4 or a full £6 shop online
