Timothé’s last, current and next read ! ✨

I always try to alternate between new releases, classics and prize-nominated books (Booker Prize, Women’s Prize, etc). My TBR pile is too big, so I always get overwhelmed right before I have to pick my next read, and I always end up changing it at the last moment (but that is a very good problem to have, I am not complaining).

Last read : Partita by Barbara Kingsolver.
This was my first Barbara Kingsolver novel and I was not disappointed ! An excellent novel about our connection to the past, carefully crafted and told through multiple timelines. If you are a fan of Lily King’s excellent novel Heart The Lover, this one is for you.

Current read : Taiwan Travelogue by Yang Shuang-zi, translated by Lin King.
As I am a big fan of literary prizes, I finally started reading the 2026 International Booker Prize winner (and I would read anything by And Other Stories Publishing, the publisher of this book). So far so good, it revolves around the relationship between an author and her interpreter as they are travelling through Taiwan and eating a lot of local food. Don’t read this when you are hungry !

Next read : On The Calculation of Volume 3 & 4 by Solvej B***e.
I really adored the first two volumes, and as the 5th one is releasing next month, I am trying to catch-up. As a big fan of novels revolving around time, different timelines and dimensions, Solvej B***e’s novels about a woman stuck on the same day (the 18th of November) are very much up my alley. It’s truly amazing how a story can go on and on around the same day : it’s an amazing example of the power of storytelling. I truly recommend it to everyone.
