En Hagi, Yamaguchi, Kumiko Kaba lidera Yachiyo Shuzo, la kura que su familia fundó en 1887. Dejó su carrera en Tokio para que no cerrara con su generación, y se formó en una bodega vecina para traer algo nuevo.
Así nació ROOM, su primera línea. Antes de pensar en el sabor, se preguntó quién lo bebería y dónde: una cena con amigos, un viernes por la noche al salir del trabajo. El resultado es un sake redondo y aromático, con una etiqueta minimalista que rompe con lo clásico. Kumiko lo sirve con hielo o ligeramente templado, y le encanta con queso azul.

In Hagi, Yamaguchi, Kumiko Kaba leads Yachiyo Shuzo, the kura her family founded in 1887. She left her career in Tokyo so it wouldn’t close with her generation, and trained at a neighbouring brewery to bring something new.
That’s how ROOM, her first line, was born. Before thinking about flavour, she asked who would drink it and where: dinner with friends, a Friday night after work. The result is a rounded, aromatic sake with a minimalist label that breaks from tradition. Kumiko serves it on the rocks or gently warmed, and loves it with blue cheese.
