From P@lestine to the World: Hazem Sedda and the Story Behind the Redfern Legend
This isn’t just about a convenience store. This is about a journey. It’s about a 17-year-old coming from Palestine to Australia, not speaking a word of English. It’s about navigating a new country, a new culture, and finding my place in this beautiful land.
It’s about how that same 17-year-old turned a simple dream into a destination. A dream to create something more, to build something unique, and to connect with people from all walks of life.
Over the years, the “Redfern Convenience Store” has become a place where locals and visitors from across the country and the world gather. It’s a place where we’ve made friends and created a community. And it’s a place where we’ve earned the honor of being known as the “Greatest Redfern Convenience Store on Earth.”
We have grown with two prime locations in Newtown and Glebe, always pushing the boundaries of what a convenience store can be, and how it can serve and inspire.
And now, we’re on a new journey – a journey to create something beautiful in taste and in meaning. We’re proud to introduce P@lestine Chocolate, a venture that’s not just about a delicious treat, but about a message of hope and connection. We’ve launched it not just in Australia, but also in Europe and the UK, sharing our heritage and our passion with the world.
This is my story. It’s a story of perseverance, of dreaming big, and of always believing in the power of connection. Stay tuned for more, as we continue to grow, to innovate, and to share our story with you.

Eid Mubarak 🌙✨

After 30 days of fasting, reflection, patience, and gratitude, Eid is finally here. A beautiful reward after Ramadan — a time that reminds us of discipline, kindness, and caring for others. Fasting isn’t just about staying away from food and drink, it’s about strengthening our faith, learning self-control, and feeling for those less fortunate. It teaches us gratitude for the simple things we often take for granted.

Eid for us is all about family ❤️
For 3 days, we visit loved ones, reconnect with relatives, and watch the kids light up with joy — new clothes, gifts, laughter with their cousins, and moments they’ll always remember.

On Saturday, I took my kids into the city for a special day. We visited all 3 of our family stores — Redfern, Newtown, and Glebe — to celebrate Eid with our amazing team. It meant a lot to share this happiness with the people who are part of our journey every day 🙏

We ended the night at Darling Harbour, watching the 9pm fireworks 🎆
Seeing the kids happy, laughing, and enjoying every moment… that’s what Eid is all about.

Grateful for family, community, and these unforgettable moments.
