Our Story

Buxton brothers Lance and Myles have been in the wine and liquor industry with over 50 years experience between them and have both got diplomas in wine. They started Buxton’s La Cave Liquors in 1997 and the La Lucia Mall branch won Best Retail Outlet for its size in South Africa at the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) awards in 2009. Their last La Cave store was sold in 2017. They have now reopened as Buxton’s Wine Store in The Boulevard, Umhlanga. The brothers continue to strive to have the best wine selection in Durban with the country’s top estates and wineries. You will also find an enticing variety of spirits, liqueurs and beers. Buxton’s Wine Store offers daily tastings in-store as well as their popular monthly wine tastings with winemakers from their respective farms.
