🌊 Madolo Dam is overflowing! 🌊
For the first time since it was built in 2008, the dam is completely full and spilling over.

This type of flood has been recorded roughly every 30 years, with previous events in 1968, 1996, and now 2025. This is the first time we’ve been lucky enough to witness it!

Water entered on the western side of the farm and flowed through the vlei areas all the way to Madolo Dam. In just a few days, the once dry, empty dam filled to the brim. The water then ran out through the overflow on the eastern side, crossed the gravel road, and continued into the farm next door, travelling approximately 10km. 💧🌿

Mother Nature is putting on a show for all of us at Vlakpan this evening. 🍂🌍
The recent rains have transformed the farm, with water flooding through the bush, turning familiar roads into flowing rivers. 🌅🌿
Turn up the volume, the bush has its own story to tell tonight 💫🎶 🐸

Another hunting season has come and gone, and what a great one it’s been!
Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. From early mornings in the bush to evenings around the fire, it’s been full of good company and memorable moments.

Now we’re looking forward to the summer months, a time to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with friends and family.
