WHEN THE WHOLE RUGBY WORLD IS TALKING ABOUT KLERKSDORP'S ANDRE ESTERHUIZEN
Springboks head coach Rassie Erasmus confirmed the deployment of Andre Esterhuizen (from Klerksdorp Hoërskool) as a replacement back-rower in their 54-7 victory over the Barbarians on Saturday.

Andre emerged at DHL Stadium in Cape Town and packed down on the flank, offering a hybrid role similar to Kwagga Smith's. This play has now been confirmed to be a permanent Springbok fixture for the Springboks who have been World Champions for a record 2070 days, as at today.

Felix Jones had been playing Andre with the forwards during training sessions after Rassie initiated his plan 5 months ago. Rassie says there two ways to view the new role: a forward covering a back position like Kwagga Smith covering wing, and a back covering a forward position like Andre covering flanker.

Andre said he wanted to try the new role because it offers more options and helps him adapt as a player as he gets older.

LOCAL SASSA OFFICE REPORTED TO BE INUNDATED WITH QUERIES - WHILE SHORT-STAFFED - WITH INCORRECT DETAILS ON SYSTEM.
The Old Age grants due to be paid yesterday have reportedly swamped the local office with grant recipients having to produce documents to verify their income statuses. It is expected that the numbers will increase, with the disability grants and child grants being released this week.

An angry resident mentioned that a call - when they got through - revealed an "assumed pension" income, dating back to an employment contract which ended with resignation, 20 years ago. This despite being fully checked and verified at application stage less than 18 months ago.

The request for aggrieved recipients to visit the local office has also created problems, since many are bed-ridden due to age, illness, or immobility due to medical procedures.

This places a massive financial strain on honest recipients who are completely reliant on these grants, for hand-to-mouth living.

While the clean-up is desperately necessary, due to high SASSA fraud levels, we trust that the initial influx will quickly be worked through by the current SASSA frontline staff who have to deal with problems which they did not create, and that the real recipients will receive their money as soon as possible.
