SHADOWS OF SHAME 6 finale
"We found out the sickness I had and I'm working on it" I said to him and he looked surprised...
"Sickness, what kind of sickness made you bedwet till the age of twenty nine" he asked me..
"I'm not going to discuss this with you," I said, trying to maintain my composure.
"But why not? I deserve to know," he pressed on, his voice firm laced with curiosity.
"Because it's none of your business," I said, feeling a surge of defensiveness.
"You have to open up and help others that are passing through Similar situations, one of your elder sisters is in a Similar condition" he said..
"Why are they here?"...
"I don't know they all came to my house yesterday evening demanding they want to see you" he replied...
"How did you know I lived here?"..
"I asked questions and people directed me here, that's not the point now, they point is you need to come back home"...
"Did you find out I started working and got a car?"...
"That's the point, when I heard about it,we were so happy about that,we didn't know you could.." he said but I cut him off from there...
"You didn't know I could amount to anything right?,you guys only come closer when you see the success of someone,I wasn't important to you guys, I was maltreated and I left the house, no one looked for me,you didn't care if I was dead or not and of course I know you told my mother about my sucess that's why she had to come to the city,if I was dead she didn't care,if I was kidnapped nobody cared, because I had a problem no one tolerated except my mother here" I said referring to my foster mother...
"She is not your mother, remember your mom brought you to the city here, don't forget all she did for you" he said to me...
"I'm going to see her and thank her for making me to see a real mother who cared and stood for me despite the shame I brought upon her" I said and he shook his head with a look of defeat...
"She is suffering at least she needs your help, I need your help if you could lend me a loan, your sister needs help, we need your help please..what could be the cause of your sickness" he asked...
"I'm not giving you any loan, and I'm not discussing my sickness with you," I said firmly, feeling a mix of anger and resentment.
He sighed, "Fine, but please, for the sake of your mother and sister, come back home and help them."
"I'll think about it," I said, trying to sound neutral.
He nodded and handed me a piece of paper with his phone number. "Call me when you're ready to talk."
As he turned to leave, I stopped him. "Wait, what's wrong with my mother?"
He hesitated before answering, "She's not well"
I felt a pang of guilt, but I pushed it aside. "I'll think about it," I repeated.
He nodded and left..
As I watched him go, I turned to my foster mother, who had been quietly observing the conversation
"What do I do?" I asked her.
She put a gentle hand on my shoulder
"family is complicated, and sometimes, forgiveness and understanding are necessary for healing."
