Kloof Street Kwikspar’s Spar2U Takes Flight with First Drone Delivery

Cape Town, South Africa – History was made at Kloof Street Kwikspar in Gardens this week as Spar2U successfully completed its first-ever drone delivery, marking a significant milestone in South Africa’s retail and logistics industry. This groundbreaking achievement comes after receiving full regulatory approval from the Department of Transportation and the Aviation Authority to begin operations in the Cape Town area.

The inaugural flight saw a carefully packaged order take off from Kloof Street Kwikspar and arrive precisely at its destination in a matter of minutes. This marks the beginning of a new era in convenience shopping, allowing customers to receive their groceries and essentials faster than ever before.

“We are beyond excited to pioneer drone delivery in Cape Town,” said Mike Egling , CEO of Kloof Street Kwikspar. “This technology allows us to provide an unmatched level of convenience, especially for those with mobility challenges or those looking for a quick and efficient way to shop. It’s all about making our customers’ lives easier.”
