Pienaar & Son Distilling Co. Pienaar & Son Distilling Company Pienaar & Son is a small craft distillery in the centre of the Cape Town City Bowl.

A stones throw from Parliament, at the end of a cul-de-sac our tiny distillery goes about its business finding fresh ways of creating and introducing people to quality, modern spirits. Although we more than appreciate traditional methods and the history of distillation, the notion that ‘older is better’ could not be further from our opinionated truth. Our “Master Distiller” is still in his 20s, a

ll our equipment is newly hand built locally and our processes are based off cutting edge nerdy engineering principles. Hand crafting spirits with science and art, we believe in starting traditions, not following them.

🥃 AGING
Matured for 4 years in Virgin American Oak for a smooth, rounded flavour with subtle natural sweetness.

🔥 FLAVOUR
Choose between two char levels. Medium is light and easy to sip, Heavy is bold with caramel, spice and rich depth.

🤝 SINGLE BARREL
Each batch is matured in its own dedicated barrel with no blending, no filtering and no nonsense. 

No two batches of Tiny Batch are the same, and dare we say this year’s Heavy Char barrel might be the best one yet🤌🏼

With the year drawing to a close, we’ve saved the best for last🥃

In 2019, in our first home on Roeland Street, we filled a handful of Heavy Char barrels.

One of them tasted different - deeper, more patient, strangely promising.
So we kept it aside.
It followed us through moves, tight budgets, cramped spaces and the reality of being a small distillery where time is our scarcest resource.

Today, that barrel becomes Tiny Batch Six:
our oldest whisky ever, drawn from one single barrel, never to be repeated.
