HDA Phantom Fury Limited Is Heading To OGT Cigar Society, Cigar Of the Month Club
Each year, small-batch cigar makers push the limits of craft and creativity—especially when it comes to honoring legacy and bold expression. One of the newest boutique brands to watch, HDA Ci**rs, has made a striking entrance with their first limited release. Meet the HDA Phantom Fury—a true expression of authentic Sumatra leaf and a patriotic experience just in time for the 4th of July! We have been working with HDA Ci**rs to bring all of our members of the OGT Cigar Society something special, and I think they nailed it. This limited release showcases the talents of HDA Ci**rs and the craftsmanship of Oveja Negra factory in Estelli, Nicaragua. For members of the OGT Cigar Society, it’s precisely the kind of rare, meaningful cigar we love to feature.

Phantom Fury isn’t just a name—it’s a tribute. Co-founder Andray F. McCuien named the cigar after his combat deployment in Fallujah, Iraq, during a mission called Operation Phantom Fury. This release is deeply personal, honoring that experience with a blend that’s as bold as it is refined. With just 6,000 ci**rs produced—and selling out in only a few days—HDA Ci**rs clearly struck a chord. This is boutique cigar-making with heart and intention.

Wrapped in a rare, true Indonesian Sumatra wrapper—not the more commonly used Ecuadorian version—the Phantom Fury Cigar brings a unique depth and richness. First light delivers pepper spice and smoked meat, followed by waves of baking spices, leather, mesquite, and cinnamon. The concept is very much like the Brulee Blue, in fact, it’s even the same dimensions. This exquisite cigar is meticulously crafted to deliver an exceptional smoking experience, perfect for those who appreciate a robust and nuanced profile. With its elegant construction and remarkable flavor, the Solita Red Grand Corona is poised to become a new favorite among both seasoned cigar enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The story behind the Sobremesa Solita Red starts with the original Sobremesa Habano Saka launched the company with. The original blend debuted in 2015 as Sobremesa, capturing the essence of craftsmanship and quality we all love Dunbarton for. In 2024, it was rebranded as Sobremesa Solita to differentiate it from the milder Sobremesa Brûlée. Not only was it our debut release which has helped to solidify our small family company over the last decade, but I still love the depth and richness of this very intricate blend. The fact that the brand continues to grow in a market that often seeks only the ‘new new’ is a testament to its worth. Although you are not supposed to have favorite children, the thick Lonsdale Cervantes Fino was always my personal favorite. Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to tinker with blends so about three years ago I began tweaking this vitola’s liga to make what was great to be what I consider perfect.” It retains all the nuances of Dutch-pressed cocoa, Indian Ceylon cinnamon, and anise with a sweet clover honey finish, just heavier in body with more depth. When I ceased making the Cervantes Fino which is one of my personal favs of the original liga and was still selling, I told everyone there was a reason for my madness. I was working on this bolder and richer version and it would soon be on the horizon – still distinctly Sobremesa, but with just that extra bit of pizazz that takes it from being a great cigar to an exceptional one.”
