When Ed contacted NES to discuss a Crescent Kayaks Cres-Craft Micro Skiff, it wasn't initiatlly obvious what his motivations were. We of course talked about how to set it up with a 6 hp Suzuki motor and rig it tastefully for fishing. Transportation and storage, too.
And we covered the boring stuff, like how to get the skiff registered through Ed's town and such. He decided to gear it up with a matching Crescent Kayak Cooler, a Crescent Leaning Bar, and a number of other accessories for him to install. More or less a standard project.
So back to our point about motivations... What makes this whole endeavor so special is that he wasn't just looking for a new ride, he was looking for a lifestyle transformation, prompted by a significant setback in his life that he's looking to offset with carefree hours on the water with the waves slapping the bow every chance he can get. He bought a new house on a river in Connecticut, rented a slip, and purchased and rigged up his new dream boat. Pretty awesome.
All of the outfitting effort was done over the phone, through our kayak delivery service to his home in CT, and via standard shipping; there were a few items exchanged between his home and our shop along the way to fine tune his setup. ... But the cherry on top was the team at Crescent HQ who prepared a care package for Ed that included a hand written thank you note--the care package was included in the cooler we had shipped to him.
The teamwork that was had between our shop, Tyler (our driver and registered Maine Guide), and Crescent's very own shipping manager, Megan, made Ed's experience something he said made the purchase far more meaningful than he was expecting. Thank you very much Ed. Enjoy yourself out there!
