Our Story

Founded in 1978 under the name Northridge Hills Liquor & Wine Warehouse, what began as a corner liquor store with a modest wine selection soon evolved into a burgeoning specialty wine store focusing mainly on the booming California wine scene. As we grew in conjunction with the public's growing fascination with fine wines we began expanding in other regions until ultimately outgrowing our original space. In 1998, the business moved to its current location in Woodland Hills. This move nearly quadrupled the previous square footage, and we adopted the new name of Woodland Hills Wine Co. Our Head Wine Buyer and co-founder Kyle Smith has developed strong relationships with wineries around the globe for 20+ years providing us direct across the world's most important wine-growing regions. These relationships give us access to many of the world's great wines with a particular emphasis on Burgundy. Always in tune with the changing marketplace, we are pioneers in the direct import business with our own containers arriving from Europe on a monthly basis. We currently sell over 4,000 unique skews annually, over half of which we are able to offer at the lowest price in the country.
