Good morning, happy Friday and Happy Veteran’s Day!!

I am really thankful for our veterans. A relative few (compared to the entire population) of men and women across this nation have for years now answered the call to be the defenders of our nations, it’s values and our way of life. God gives us our liberty but these men and women have defended our access to it. Too many times they’re taken for granted but they deserve the honor and thanks of a grateful nation. Paul said we should render honor to whom honor is due. The sacrifices our vets have made even including the time spent away from families while training or fighting have been a high cost for them which we could never fully pay back. I think our country should strive to take care of and honor our veterans.

So on this day set aside to honor vets let us thank all who served. There are many who receive these devotions who are veterans. My day is a veterans as is our Brother Sonny Williams who writes our Thursday devotions. And there are several more. To all of our vets I say thank you for serving our country. I am indebted to you for your sacrifices. We love you and honor you on this day.

This is race week for the Sue Daniels Memorial Fun-Run-Walk for Backpack Buddies. The “race” is to make sure that we have funds to accomplish our mission...”No child comes to school hungry”. Your decision to get involved can make the difference in the life of a child. How can you get involved?
1. Decide to be a sponsor. Each $10.00 provides a backpack of weekend meals to one child for an entire month.
2. Join us for all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper this Friday, 10-11, at Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church from 4:30 to 6:30.
3. Join us for a fun run/walk 5K this Saturday morning at Wilson’s Mills Community Park on Powhatan Road in Wilson’s Mills. Registration begins at 8:00 am and the run/walk starts at 9:00 am followed immediately by the Wilson’s Mills Pumpkin 🎃 Festival.
4. Volunteer to help shop, pack, and deliver backpacks.
