The moon!? Nah, those craters are grape vines. A volcanic eruption changed the landscape of Lanzarote but these are tough vintners. They dug through the ash and rock to plant their vines in the buried fertile soil….And then hand built stone walls around each vine to protect it from the strong winds. Wines from here are truly a labor of love

What a way to start the trip- Bendito, Vinos y Vinilos, a wine bar in the Mercado de San Fernando. Chilled Granacha first and a unique co-ferment with Flor to finish. Plus a list of five more wine bars to hit tomorrow. Wish me luck…..
