Happy National White Wine Day! 🥂🎉✨

Chardonnay is the star of today’s episode of What’s in the Glass. We’re taking you to the prestigious vineyards of Burgundy, where this versatile grape was born. Each sip of these whites reveals centuries of craftsmanship and the kind of elegance that never goes out of style.

Did you know Burgundy has more AOCs (wine regions with strict rules and regulations) than any other part of France? That’s why there are so many wine varieties — and why Grapes can’t stop collecting them!

Here are our white Burgundy selections:
- Baller Pick: 💰Albert Grivault Meursault Clos Des Perrieres 2018💰
- Sweet Spot: 🍭Domaine Maillard Corton Blanc 2022🍭
- Hidden Gem: 💎Domaine Bzikot Santenay Le Chainey 2022💎

Pardon the interruption — Blind Tasting Round 12 is here! 🫣🍇

The Grapes Staff did not take it easy on me today with this not-so-white white wine. Very acidic, tart like a green apple, and unlike most wines I’ve ever tasted.

But when you’re stuck, it’s always easier to determine what wine it ISN’T and narrow down your options!

Uh oh. We sent Pinot instead of Petrus… 😅🍷

🎬 Stream & Sip | Episode 5

Today, we’re pairing serious wine with a not-so-serious film: The Naked Gun—a cult classic from the ‘80s being reimagined this year with Liam Neeson stepping into the role originally made famous by the late, great Leslie Nielsen.

When the content is light, the wine should bring the depth. That’s why we’re heading to Bordeaux, specifically the Left Bank appellation of Saint-Julien, known for structure, longevity, and elegance.

🍷 Château Talbot – Often mispronounced, even among wine lovers. While some say “Tal-butt,” the château itself uses the softer “Tal-bow.” It’s not a French family name, after all.

🍷 Château Léoville Barton – One of the oldest family-owned estates in the region. Founded nearly 200 years ago and still run by the Barton family, most recently the late Anthony Barton, whose legacy lives on in every bottle.

Two serious wines to bring balance to a film that’s anything but. Whether you’re revisiting the original or giving the reboot a shot, pour something with pedigree.

White’s for the day. Red’s for the night.
Hamptons protocol. ✔️🍷

🍇 MEET THE MAKER: DIETER HÜBLER 🍷

Straight from Austria, Dieter Hübler of Laurenz V stopped by to taste through his lineup of Grüner Veltliners, and trust us, these wines are anything but basic.

From the elegant Charming Grüner to the village-specific Friendly Grüner (a personal favorite), Dieter brings four decades of wine expertise, including time with Robert Mondavi, to this project founded in 2004 alongside Laurenz Maria Moser V.

Fun fact: Laurenz’s grandfather literally changed the world of winegrowing by inventing the modern trellising system — a legacy that lives on in every bottle.

Find Laurenz V at Grapes soon and give Grüner a go.
