I have been deeply moved by the consistent stream of customers offering their condolences over The Lendog’s passing. Every day I’ve seen people I barely know reduced to tears when they see our notice next to his picture. Comments like “This is a big loss for the entire community” and “his presence was enormous” and “Lenny was an institution” and “he always brightened my day” and “he had a soul that spoke to you” and “our daughter was always afraid of dogs but she allowed us to get one if it was like Lenny ...and so we did” and “he had the most gentle soul..” and countless others have been stunning me all month. I knew he was a crowd pleaser but I underestimated the number of lives he touched. Yesterday a local artist, A.D. Bloom, presented us with this beautifully framed drawing of Lenny in the “afterlife.” This image and more of his art can be found at deviantart.com/adbloom. Thank you all so much for your warmth and sympathies!

RIP to our sweet Lenny. May he enjoy endless Cheerios, popcorn, and other snacks in doggie heaven.
