For our wine drinkers who are looking for a wine with a few less calories, we have added Decoy Featherweight Chardonnay to our store. "With a sleek 80 calories per serving, Decoy Featherweight is a bright and balanced Chardonnay crafted to the highest standards using grapes from the finest vineyards in California."

The Decoy Featherweight joins our FitVine family, a Menage a Trois Light Red Blend and Cupcake Light Hearted Sauvignon Blanc.

We have put all the lower calorie wines together on the wine rack to make them easy to find!

Last month, we tried Weiehnstephaner Hefe-Weisse bier, from a brewery established in 1040. One of my all-time favorites...

This month we are going with Left Hand Brewing's Milk Stout, a style from the 1800's brewed with lactose to provide a touch of sweet to balance the bitter of the hops and barley.

There is no obligation, and no information will be shared, but you will be able to try different brands and styles that sound interesting, but that won't be available on our shelves.

Come give it a try; your taste buds will thank you for it...!

It's a big week for new beers!

Next up is some offerings from Real Ale Brewing Co, located in Blanco. Firemans #4 is a nicely balanced, highly crushable blonde that is perfect for pairing with spicy foods.

The Bomber Sampler is a six-pack containing three different beers. Commissar is a Russian Imperial Stout; related to porters and stouts, RPAs (like IPAs) were made differently to endure the long voyage to the Russian royal court. Real Heavy is a Scotch Ale, a style that leans on malt rather than hops for flavor. Dark Quad is a quadruple Belgian-style ale that is, obviously, quite dark and rather rich.

All three have an ABV of at least 9.3, so they are more sippers than pounders. But if you like dark(er) beer, give these a spin...!

Stone IPA is a highly rated IPA first released in 1997. A classic West Coast style IPA, it is well-respected, and one of the best selling as well.

Stone Arrogant Bas*ard Ale was something of a trailblazer; back in 1997, there really weren't any/many hop-forward ales, and certainly fewer that packed a 7.2 ABV punch! It isn't as hoppy as an IPA, but the hops are clearly there, and the color is more like a mix between a brown ale and a Bock. In a 19.2oz single, it's a great way to end the day...
