Hey, look, that’s us! ↘️

Should you take your car to Washington Island? Depends!

There are over 100 miles of paved roads on Washington Island. After disembarking from the ferry, Downtown is 3 miles, Jackson Harbor is 8 miles, Jacobsen Museum is 7 miles, and Schoolhouse Beach is 6.5 miles.

There are, however, multiple places on the island where you can rent bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, four wheelers, and other modes of transportation. In addition, tour trains are available to select locations within their route schedule.

So, really, it’s up to you! To learn more about how to navigate the island, you can visit washingtonisland.com.
