From cooler 2023 vintage, which brought out the wilder side of Pinot Noir. This St. Robert cuvee has notes of rose petals, iron, tea leaves, incense and dried herbs with a savory palate. Really brilliant and crystalline like the 99-point James Suckling score indicates.

Only a handful of bottles in stock.

The 2023 ‘Ingrid & Julia’ from is 2/3 and 1/3 … tastes mineral with bright strawberries, fresh and an overall lovely wine. Julie Johnson, owner and of calls this a “beautiful wine with a spicy accent”. This was a perfect choice for our relaxing Sunday evening 🍷

Wine and Us.

Vinous Reverie Wine Merchant recently opened its doors in Walnut Creek, California. East Bay residents Igor and Anu Ivanov wanted to open the wine shop that featured a unique and adventurous collection of wines from around the world that they themselves wanted to drink but had difficulty locating in other local shops. Hence the name, Vinous Reverie, which roughly translates as “wine dream” from French and Latin.

The shop is located at 554 Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek. Igor, an oenophile with an encyclopedic knowledge of wine regions and varietals from around the globe, quit his job as a Financial Analyst to pursue his passion for wine full time. While the store has many classic wines (there are plenty of Napa Cabernets, Bordeaux, and Burgundies), its true gems are to be found among its many international selections. The store boasts a variety of highly rated Rieslings - German, Alsatian, Australian and even a Spanish Riesling. There’s also an eclectic selection of Indigenous Italian varieties as well as sparkling wines from England, Austria and Tasmania. The store offers a highly curated experience within a large space, including many "value" selections, acclaimed wines at very competitive price points.

At Vinous Reverie, tasting notes and information abound. Many of the wines come with detailed descriptions as well as critic reviews and ratings. There are also staff recommendations. This is all designed to give the wine shopper all the information they need to select a bottle that suits their tastes or fulfills their thirst for a wine adventure.

The store also has a window seating tasting area where thematic flights of wine will be poured on Friday’s from 5-7PM and Saturday's 12-5PM.
