The last couple of weeks haven’t made it easy to get out there, with some pretty crazy winds and rough weather rolling through. But for those who found their windows, the fish have been biting! 🎣

Flounder are starting to push out of the inlet, and congrats to Jack Harman on an awesome 6 lb 13 oz flounder caught inshore right after the nor’easter!

We’ve also been seeing plenty of speckled trout around the inlet and off the beach. Most have been undersized, but there have been a few keepers mixed in. The bite is showing some promise, so keep getting out there when the weather gives you a chance!

If you’ve been catching them, send us your pictures! We want to see what’s hitting the deck around the area.

The weather is finally starting to cool off, and we’re starting to hear more and more about some trout being caught around the area!

🎣 Fall fishing is off to a HOT start!

Captain Ryan Rable and crew got out there ahead of the storm earlier this week and made the most of it! Saturday they put a few almost-citation Spanish mackerel in the boat, then came back Monday and hit the jackpot with a king mackerel🔥

Lots of great fishing earlier this week, and a heck of a way to kick off the fall season. Congrats to Captain Ryan and the crew on some awesome fish

6 DAYS LEFT OF COBIA SEASON. 🎣

What a season it’s been. We’ve had the chance to see so many first cobia come through the shop, and we’ve loved seeing all the pictures and hearing the stories from everyone who got out there and got on them this year.

From the first-timers to the guys who have been chasing them for years, there’s just something about cobia season that brings everyone together. We’re not quite done yet though…

Six more days. If you’ve been waiting for one more shot, now’s the time. Get out there, put in the work, and see if you can end the season with one in the ice box. 🎣

Updated Fall hours: The shop and fuel dock are currently open everyday from 6AM–8PM.

As the days start getting a little cooler and we head toward fall, we wanted to give everyone a quick update on our current hours.

Fall fishing is right around the corner, and we’ll be here to keep you stocked up, fueled up, and ready for whatever the next season brings. We appreciate everyone who has stopped by and supported us all summer long!

Labor Day weekend is looking pretty good for getting out on the water!

Sunday and Monday are shaping up to be the highlight days, while Friday and Saturday look to have some better windows earlier in the morning. Rain chances are also trending down as we get closer to the weekend, so keep an eye on the forecast and take advantage of the good windows when they show up.

Whether you’re looking for drum, striped bass, cobia, or Spanish mackerel, there’s still plenty of fish around and plenty of season left to get after them. With cobia season winding down, there are still three weeks left to key in and get one in the ice box.

One of the biggest doormats we have seen this summer came through the shop this week👏

What an absolute stud of a flounder, weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and measuring 27 1/8” long! That’s a serious fish coming out of our local waters.

Congratulations on an incredible catch, and thanks for bringing it by Long Bay Pointe Bait & Tackle so we could check it out!
