NEW. The Beldi glasses from Morocco are in store..
If you’ve traveled in Morocco, chances are you’ve sipped mint tea from a Beldi glass. Beldi means “traditional” or “native” in Arabic. The glasses were first produced in 1946, and since then, the Beldi glass has become the preferred tea glass in Morocco for enjoying mint tea.
Beldi glasses are made using traditional methods. Each one is mouth-blown from recycled wine and beer bottles. Durable and full of character, they often feature small bubbles and subtle imperfections that give them their distinctive, appearance.
One of the glass’s signature features is the small ridge just above its midpoint, which provides a secure grip even when the contents are hot. While traditionally used for tea, Beldi glasses are equally suited for serving cold beverages.
We carry the Beldi glasses in amber, available in sets of six and presented in traditional Moroccan gift packaging. We also carry the matching Amber Beldi Jug.
