Maker Monday: Meet Jotham Povich!

Jotham is an engineer, dreamer, and artist who discovered glassblowing nearly a decade ago and thought, “I can do that!” He soon discovered that working with hot glass was the perfect way to bring together his engineering mindset and artistic passion.

Most Saturdays, Jotham and his wife, Joy, can be found in their garage with the furnace running, creating beautiful glassware, ornaments, vases, and anything else fun and lovely they can imagine! Along with their four children, life is always busy and full of inspiration.

We're excited to welcome Jotham to Demo Day at Long Lake Gallery on November 7th! Stop by to meet him and learn more about his process.

Stay tuned for more details, and be sure to stop by the gallery to support our talented Michigan artists!

Artist Spotlight: Tracie Herkner

We’re excited to feature local fiber artist Tracie Herkner at Long Lake Gallery and Gifts!

Tracie creates beautiful handmade pieces using luxurious natural fibers, including alpaca, cashmere, merino, mohair, and wool. With years of experience in knitting, weaving, and spinning her own yarn, she brings incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail to each creation. Many of her pieces feature handspun yarn made from fibers sourced locally from Northern Michigan.

From cozy hats, mittens, and socks to beautiful cowls, shawls, and other unique creations, Tracie’s work celebrates the beauty of natural fibers and traditional craftsmanship. Her collection also includes fun, nature-inspired designs featuring fish and loons!

See Tracie at our November Demo Day!
