Get to Know Your Local Liquor Store Owner!

Hi everyone! My name is KyAnne Phillips. I’m 41 years old (almost 42 🙄) and have proudly called Thayer, KS home my entire life. I’m a mom to five amazing kids (and a son in law 😊) and a proud grandma to two beautiful grandbabies.

In December 2024, I took a leap of faith and opened this liquor store with the hope of continuing to provide our small town with a great variety of alcoholic beverages close to home. It’s definitely been an adventure so far, but one I’m incredibly thankful for.

My store hours are:
Monday–Thursday: 4 PM – 8 PM
Friday: 4 PM – 9 PM
Saturday: 1 PM – 9 PM

Along with running the store, I also work full time for RiverRock Operating as a gas measurement analyst in the natural gas and oil industry. Needless to say, life stays pretty busy and free time is hard to come by! But when I do get a little downtime, I love spending it with family and friends.

One tradition that means a lot to me is our Sunday family lunches. Every Sunday, my parents, my brother’s family, my kids, and whoever else can make it, all gather together for lunch! It’s something we’ve done for as long as I can remember. Because of that tradition, I made the decision last year to keep the liquor store closed on Sundays so I can continue making those memories with all of them!

Over the last year and a half, I’ve slowly worked to grow and improve my inventory here at Tipsy Pig. My current goal is getting the business note paid off and continuing to build something stable for my family and our community.

This past December, my children and I experienced a devastating house fire that destroyed our home and everything we owned. We’ve been incredibly blessed to stay with my parents while working toward rebuilding. It’s been a difficult journey, but thanks to the support of this community, we’re getting closer to our goals every day.

I truly appreciate every person who supports my small business. If you haven’t stopped by yet, come check it out! It may not be anything fancy, but I promise you’ll be welcomed with a smile.

And don’t forget your I.D. 😅 If your age is questionable, I will absolutely card you!
