We're trying something new! We're setting up a wine garden at Saturday's free Blues Concert at Johnson Farm.
On offer will be six beautiful wines from around the world, curated by Island artist Hayley Young's new venture, Vinestock, which has graciously helped make this part of the benefit possible.
All six are natural wines, which are free from added chemicals and are sustainably farmed by small producers. Enjoy a sparkling Cava, an effervescent, lightly sweet Frizzante from Italy, both perfect for summer, or a light, dry, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley of France. If pink is your thing, a beautifully balanced rosé from the Bardolino region of Northern Italy will be your jam. Two Rhone-style reds, one direct from the source in France and one blended from grapes grown in both Washington and Oregon, round out the lineup. There are two delicious non-alcoholic cocktails available, along with some snacks.
We'll be selling tokens for poured wine in tasting and full glass sizes, and full bottles too. We accept cash, cards, and tap-to-pay. The wine garden will be 21+, so don't forget your ID. You'll be able to view the concert from the garden.
The entire concert is an AI Arts fundraiser, so whether you're putting cash in the hat, donating online, and/or enjoying wines, you'll be helping us offer an abundance of arts programming on the Island. Thank you!
We're grateful to our friends and partner organization, the Anderson Island Historical Society, for hosting the concert and helping us work out the logistics to make the wine garden possible—particularly Serena Frank, Bob Bedoll, Jon Field, and Carol Paschal!
This is a bit of an experiment, and our first go at it. We'd love to hear what you think, so stop by!
