Hey Merch Fam! Tomorrow’s is going to be EPIC! Swipe through to see what we’re tasting. To kick things off, we have some really special from some amazing producers. After that, we’re moving on to some classified growth , all reds. These all have fantastic scores! For a special treat, we’ve got Willett being poured by our dear friend Jen. In her words, she’s a “bourbon enthusiast with a passion for sharing the spirit. I’ve traveled the Bourbon Trail twice and loved every pour along the way. Whether it’s introducing someone to their first barrel-proof pour, or guiding seasoned sippers to hidden gems, I revel in being a bourbon Sherpa!” Her go-to drink is a smooth wheated or a perfectly stirred manhattan. As always, free from noon-4:00!

Just a few pics from Saturday’s wine dinner w/ Kirk’s Traveling Kitchen, and We had an absolute blast!!! These wines were spectacular, the food was incredible and the company was very pleasant! If you missed this one, don’t worry, we have lots of cool events planned! Thank you again to everyone who made this sold out event so fun and successful, and to everyone who joined us!

MEET THE MERCH STAFF: The BOSS edition
If you’ve ever heard anyone here utter the phrase, “shockingly good…” it was probably this guy. Jason, as you certainly know, steers this ship. The cool thing about Jason is that while he’s a certified , he likes a great bottle that drinks above its weight class, even if it’s only 15 bucks, and loves helping people find something they love. Not everything is about vintage DRC after all. His passion for music rivals his passion for wine and he used to be a DJ. Fave drinks are (surprise, surprise) white and but he likes a crushable beer too.

MEET THE MERCH STAFF: penultimate edition.
A lot of times we start with “most of you already know...” or something of the sort, but a lot of you probably might not know our C.F.O. Carly. She works behind the scenes making sure things get ordered, vendors get paid, books get balanced. She sends out our emails, makes sure all the Merch Club stuff gets pulled, packed, charged, etc... Basically Carly makes sure the business gets run and it’s not just a bunch of nerds talking about and drinking wine all day. When she’s not fixing our mistakes, she’s taking piano lessons, hanging out with her and Jason’s son, Willie and building Legos! Carly likes white Burgundy and gin, but bubbles are her favorite!

MEET THE MERCH STAFF pt4:
Matt is the newest member of our team here at the Merch! While mostly new to the wine world, he’s catching on quick! In addition to doing boring inventory stuff, Matt is the official Wine Merchant stylist! You may have noticed all of his beautiful displays and signs that are making the store easier to shop. His artistic talent extends beyond the paintbrush and into the music scene, where he plays guitar, bass, keyboard and sings both in solo shows and as part of his band .modern . Matt has a punk edge and is definitely “the cool one” among our team. When it comes to wine, Matt prefers Champagne or sparkling wine, but he won’t turn his nose up at much else (except NZ Sauvignon Blanc).

MEET THE MERCH STAFF Pt3!
Or rather, “The Return of the Son of Meet The Merch Staff, The Merching”
Starring John Reap a.k.a. “The Reaper” (Please call him that. We’re trying to make the name stick.) There’s not a lot John doesn’t do in the shop- inventory control, receiving, helping customers, bartender... about all he won’t do is teach classes, at least not until we start offering Dungeons and Dragons classes (working on it...). John is the primary buyer for our beer section and his desert island drink would probably be Irish whiskey, but the guy knows his wine. He also knows music and usually has something cool he’s just discovered for us to listen to.

MEET THE STAFF OF TWM Pt2:
All of you know Claire Augustine , she’s our customer service Jedi Master here at TWM. She’s been in the wine business for 16 years and has even rep’d many of the products we sell here, so she brings a wealth of knowledge with her. Even more than being able to sniff out just the right bottle for any occasion, Claire is all about the pups and will swiftly make friends with any four-legged guest that makes it into the shop, and loves to tell us all about the adventures of her own dog, Shrimpie. As far as drinks go, Claire and her husband, Doug, love a good rose or margarita. Come on in and swap dog stories!

MEET THE STAFF OF THE WINE MERCHANT!
Many of you probably already know Dave as he’s been in the wine industry for upwards of 20 years. Dave does a lot with sales of high-end or rare products, so you may have gotten an email or text from him that we’ve gotten our hands on something exceptional. Or perhaps you’ve heard him wax poetic on the brilliance of white Burgundy while pouring at our free Saturday wine tastings. While his wine faves are white Burgundy and Champagne, he definitely appreciates a cold beer (his go-to shift drink is a Sapporo). When he’s not giving great wine recs, he’s probably playing bass, working on his car or playing video games. Dave also enjoys a good pun, so there’s that too. If you need a good beurre blanc recipe, he’s your guy.
