We’re beyond excited to announce the release of one of the most unique whiskeys we’ve ever offered: a Rare Character Single Barrel, bottled at a bold 123.6 proof and aged 7 years, 7 months. In a market where allocated whiskey is cooling off (unless it's Buffalo Trace), this one stands apart in all the right ways.

Let’s start with the label. Rare Character allows each retailer to design their own front label, and we knew we had to make ours something special. We partnered with celebrated St. Louis artist Marilynne Bradley, whose vibrant paintings capture the spirit of the city. The label features her iconic Market Street piece, which is rich in color, local pride, and character. It’s whiskey that looks as good as it tastes.

Now for the bourbon itself. Rare Character Whiskey was founded in 2021 by Pablo Moix and Peter Nevenglosky, born from their shared passion for rare and distinctive whiskey, and shaped during the challenges of the 2020 hospitality collapse. Their barrels are sourced from a range of high-quality distillers, and each release is a true one-off, which is why you’ll never find them in chain stores.

Our barrel comes from their new "JIT" series, short for “Just In Time.” This line was created by chance when they flew out fresh samples for an event at the last minute, and the name stuck. You won’t find many of these on the market as we've checked online and we're unable to find any others.

Tasting Notes: Expect a deep, robust flavor profile loaded with caramelized oak, toasted spice, and rich vanilla, backed by a slightly oily mouthfeel and long, warm finish. This is the kind of bourbon that commands your attention with every sip; unapologetically bold but exceptionally balanced.
