Okay hi hello we have an update 🥹

We’ve raised almost $3,000 so far for Funktional (wooo woo!!! The first round of funding closes in just 5 days and we’d love to get over that mark.

We’re planning something special for our first round of contributors, so if you’ve been thinking about jumping in, now is the time. There’s still room to be part of that first wave.

After this round closes, we will reopen it so more people can grab perks before we officially open. We’ve got some really fun swag and things coming with that.

This isn’t JUST about giving us money. It’s about investing in something bigger. In community. In better options. In people figuring out their relationship with alcohol and having a place that actually supports that.

What is Funktional? Who are we? Why are we doing this?
We probably need a hug, or to do a load of laundry, but instead we decided to start our own business. We are Jen Yohe-Hacker and LaRae Perrin the women building South Bend’s first Non Alcoholic Bar & Bottle Shop. Two food & bev industry veterans, that are navigating what sobriety looks like for ourselves. We’re both passionate about the creativity and craft of creating elevated cocktails & experiences, something that is lacking in the non alcoholic space, so we are doing something about it! We’ve been a little quiet on socials lately… but with good reason.

We found a home. A real, brick and mortar, Funktional home. 😭

That’s Jen, peeking in the window, doing what we’ve been doing for months, dreaming big and visualizing what’s next. And now it’s finally happening.

We’re aiming to open the bottle shop portion in time for the holidays and have the full bar ready to roll by Dry January. But truth is… we need a little help to get this place off the ground.

So we’re calling on our community. If Funktional has ever brought you joy, curiosity, or clarity, we’d love your support. Every dollar goes toward buildout, licensing, and all the stuff that turns a dream into a door you can actually walk through.
