•Name --Matthew Swank
•Business name -- Lupine Gardens, LLC
•Where are you from / where are you based out of? --New Richmond, WI

•What inspired you to start your business? -- I started the business because of my love of nature and understanding how important native plants are to the ecosystem and the animals and organisms that keep our planet functioning. The food side of the business came from growing vegetable plants as I was establishing the business early on and doing local Farmer's markets where I sold produce and plants originally. The extra vegetables needed a use, so I created recipes to ensure there was little to no waste by creating canned goods.

•What is your best-selling or favorite product? Mango salsa is the best seller. Pickled beets and Medium chunky salsa are my personal favorites.

•Fun fact: I named it Lupine Gardens after the host plant for the Karner Blue Butterfly which is an endangered species and the majority of the remaining population resides in Wisconsin. The company focuses on helping expand habitat for this species every year in restoration projects.

•Name -- Kristin Loberg

•Business name -- Simple Joy Skincare

•Where are you from / where are you based out of? --I am originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but I moved to Western Wisconsin after meeting my husband. Our business is based in Wilson.

•What inspired you to start your business? -- My journey began when I was pregnant with my eldest daughter. As I learned how many harmful ingredients are hidden in everyday products, I felt a deep desire to give her the healthiest start possible. I began making simple, intentional swaps in my daily routine, and one of the easiest changes was my skincare and soap. I love knowing exactly what goes on my skin and being able to choose the best, most nourishing ingredients. What we put on our bodies matters just as much as what we put in our bodies.

•What is your best-selling or favorite product? My favorite product is our shampoo bars! They’re low environmental impact and ph balanced to be gentle and nourishing for your hair and scalp!

A fun fact is that soap takes 6 weeks to cure before it can be used.

•Name -- Levi Sampson

•Business name -- Fox Ridge Slabs

•Where are you from / where are you based out of? -- Houlton, WI

•What inspired you to start your business? -- The theme of my life has been learning to love, as an adult, many of the things I hated as a kid. Growing up, we heated our house with firewood in the winter, which meant I spent a lot of time in the woods helping my dad cut and split wood. There were a million things I would have rather been doing. As a kid, I despised chainsaws and anything to do with firewood. Fast forward to my late twenties, when I started cutting, splitting, and selling firewood, and the work slowly grew on me. Not long after that, my dad introduced me to chainsaw milling, and that’s where my milling and woodworking journey began. I fell in love with chainsaw milling and woodworking and turned it from a hobby into a business that still feels like a hobby.

•What is your best-selling or favorite product? -- My best-selling finished products are charcuterie boards, including both all-wood and wood-and-epoxy designs. I am also a kiln-dried live-edge slab supplier.
•One fun fact about your business -- My social media accounts took off, and I became one of the largest chainsaw milling influencers in the world.
