How many of you know about Kassandra Herbs Unlimited right here in the town of Somers? I love shopping there for herbs for myself and my chickens. Yes the chickens love herbs and she has so many readily available at a very reasonable price. Happy girls - delicious eggs. So if you cook, bake, love teas, have chickens or want to treat in a holistic manner go visit. Not only will she have what you want, but she is very knowledgeable as well. This place is so worth the visit. On a cold winter day you will be toasty warm inside enjoying the sounds of the birds and butterflies. There is plenty of seating inside and no rush to leave. You can also purchase items in the gift shop including tropical houseplants but there is no pressure to do so. Bring a camera and a friend and go enjoy the day.

Update on Little Momma. She lost a second baby chick to the flock. I decided to separate her and her chicks and work on reintrogration later. I separated the outdoor play space for them temporarily. I ordered a small chicken coop which should arrive in a few days. In the meantime, the remaining four chicks and Little Momma are doing well. Ah the expense this hen has put me through!

Here is an update on Little Momma and her adopted adorable babies. She has taken them outdoors and all the way into the expanded run where there is grass and dirt. The other run is sand. They are all doing well and learning to forage more stuff. Continue your follow for more updates as they grow. KK’s This n’ That Shop

Quick update. Little Momma went outside briefly. I believe she is trying to encourage the wee ones out. She does not keep them huddled as tightly. But they are still very young and the world is still to scary. Perhaps another day they will venture out, but not today. Continue to follow for more updates on the chicks. Enjoy! Little momma wanted to really be a mom. She tried so hard to hatch out eggs. Of course I collect 2X daily and we don’t have a rooster. But that didn’t stop her from going broody. So I went to Tractor Supply, got the six chick minimum order, chick food, chick feeder, chick waterer, and some electrolytes for a $121.00. 🤷‍♀️ Little momma is so happy and very protective of her new babies. Here she is trying to teach them to eat. I gave her some mealworms and she is giving them to the kids. Right now they stay very close to Little momma and she chooses to stay inside the coop. I’ll post updates in the future and you can watch them grow. As for the other hens, well they are hard at work making your breakfast😁. KK’s This n’ That Shop 138 Main Street in Somers
