We have removed our posts regarding the drowning of the 18-year-old at Greenbrier at the request of family members.

We were initially asked by friends of the victim to report on the incident because no other media outlet was covering it. Unfortunately, what should have been a conversation focused on a tragic loss quickly turned into unnecessary drama, both in the comments and in our private messages.

Whatever issues may exist behind the scenes, this was a young person who lost their life. Some of the behavior we've witnessed in response to this tragedy has been disappointing, and those involved should take a moment to reflect on that.

Moving forward, our focus will be on Raw Missouri and statewide coverage. The reality is that no matter what we do, someone in Pettis County will be unhappy with it, and we're no longer interested in being caught in the middle of personal disputes and community drama.

On May 31, 2026, officers with the Sedalia Police Department responded to the area of Third Street and Quincy Avenue in reference to a reported domestic assault. According to the probable cause statement, a caller reported observing a Black male wearing a red top strike a White female.

Officers responded to the area and were advised by the reporting party that the couple had walked east through an alley from Quincy Avenue. An officer subsequently observed a Black male and a White female matching the description walking eastbound on Wilkerson Street and made contact with them. The individuals were identified as Kenneth Samuel McGee Jr. and his girlfriend.

When questioned, McGee stated the two had been arguing but denied striking her. He told officers they had argued and that he had hugged and kissed her. Due to the nature of the call and observations at the scene, McGee was detained in handcuffs. After being advised of his Miranda rights, he indicated he understood and again denied assaulting his girlfriend.

McGeeโ€™s girlfriend told officers the couple had been arguing and had gotten very close to one another during the dispute, but she also denied that McGee had hit her. Officers observed several bruises on her arms and a red mark near her collarbone. When asked about the injury, she stated it was the result of rough s*x.
Officers then interviewed the reporting party, who stated she witnessed McGee and his girlfriend arguing and observed McGee grab her and punch her once in the neck and torso area.

Based on the witness statement and the physical injuries observed on the victim, officers placed McGee under arrest. Before being placed into a patrol vehicle, McGee informed an officer that he had a m**h pipe in his pocket. The pipe was recovered and later tested using a Nartec Methamphetamine Field Testing Ampule. The test yielded a positive result for m**hamphetamine residue. The pipe was collected and placed into evidence.

The probable cause statement noted that McGee is on parole for prior convictions of first-degree manslaughter and second-degree robbery and had previous arrests for third-degree assault and resisting arrest. McGee is now charged with domestic assault in the third degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

On May 30, 2026, deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office responded to the 29000 block of McCormick Road in reference to a reported domestic disturbance. According to the probable cause statement, the victim reported that her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Joseph E. Whitlow Jr., had strangled her and dragged her across the yard.

While en route, the deputy made contact with the victim in her vehicle a short distance from the property. The deputy observed that the victim's shirt was ripped around the collar area. The victim stated that she and Whitlow had been spending time together when he became upset over past infidelities in the relationship. She reported that Whitlow began insulting her before grabbing her by the throat and dragging her through the yard. The victim stated she nearly lost consciousness during the incident. She further reported that she did not physically fight back, but instead called 911 and left the property.

Upon arriving at the residence, the deputy contacted Whitlow, who was outside the home. Whitlow told the deputy he wanted the victim to be trespassed from the property. When questioned about the reported physical altercation, Whitlow stated that nothing physical had occurred between them.

Based on the victim's statement, the observed damage to her clothing, and allegations that Whitlow strangled her to the point she nearly lost consciousness while dragging her through the yard, the deputy placed Whitlow under arrest. Whitlow is now charged with domestic assault in the second degree.

On April 20, 2026, officers with the Sedalia Police Department responded by telephone in reference to a harassment report. The reporting party and the victim advised that the suspect, Dylan Brooks Clark, had been harassing them following the end of a seven-year romantic relationship between Clark and the victim.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim and the reporting party. The reporting party stated that Clark had made threatening remarks over the telephone, including statements that he was going to kill both individuals and burn the reporting partyโ€™s personal property located near Clarkโ€™s residence on Crestview Drive. The reporting party advised that he resides in Cole Camp but owns a storage shed in the area of Crestview Drive.

The victim reported that Clark contacted her by telephone approximately 100 times. The officer requested screenshots of the calls and any messages, but the victim stated she no longer had any messages available. The victim reported that Clark told her he was going to come to her location, strangle her, beat her up, shoot her, and burn her clothing. The victim stated she was fearful as a result of the threats and had moved to a different residence, where she was staying with the reporting party.

The officer later interviewed Clark regarding the allegations. Clark denied threatening to kill either individual and stated that he told them he โ€œshouldโ€ do those things, but was not going to. When asked specifically what he told the victim, Clark stated that he told her he should come down there with a gun and shoot, but that he was not going to do so. Clark repeatedly emphasized that he told the victim he โ€œshould, but heโ€™s not going to.โ€ Clark also alleged that the victim had been contacting and antagonizing him in an effort to provoke a reaction. He denied contacting the victim approximately 100 times and stated that the victim called him twice and that he called her twice.

Clark is now charged with harassment in the first degree.

On May 26, 2026, officers with the Sedalia Police Department responded to the 500 block of W. 7th St. in reference to a physical disturbance. According to the probable cause statement, dispatch advised responding officers that Melissa R. Keele had struck the reporting party and was on the roof of the residence. Upon arrival, officers observed Keele on the front balcony roof before she re-entered the residence through a window.

During the investigation, witnesses reported that Keele struck her boyfriend and later shoved another individual during a confrontation inside the residence. Officers were escorted upstairs to locate Keele. After discovering that the roof access door had been screwed shut, an officer climbed through a damaged screen door onto the roof and located Keele hiding in a corner.

When officers attempted to take Keele into custody, she pulled away and resisted. During the struggle, Keele kicked an officer in the ankle. Officers continued to struggle with Keele on the sloped roof before gaining control and placing her in handcuffs. She was then escorted outside and secured in a patrol vehicle.

Additional witnesses told officers they had been outside the apartment complex when they heard Keele yelling and what sounded like someone being shoved down the steps. They reported that after the reporting party left the apartment, Keele continued yelling and began throwing childrenโ€™s toys outside. When confronted about the toys, Keele allegedly shoved another individual by the shoulder and neck.

The reporting party later told officers that he and Keele were in a relationship and that she had been intoxicated and yelling for several hours. He reported that while he was playing a video game, Keele punched him in the back of the head. He then left the residence, with Keele following him downstairs while continuing to yell. He reported head pain but denied falling down steps.

Keele is now charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree domestic assault, and resisting arrest.
