Track large open-ocean predators via satellite tagging on the TOPP (Tagging of Pacific Predators) website! Great white sharks, elephant seals, tuna, and more!

I have a survey question for all the TOPP researchers. How has each of you changed your diet as a result of what you have learned, or from meeting these creatures in person?

Our featured ocean critter today is Anthopleura xanthogrammica, or the green anemone. It is a common invertebrate animal found in tidepools on the northern California coast. Stinging cells in its tentacles stun its prey (like small crabs), and bring them to its mouth in the center of its body.
