Big news for Biondi! 🥂🥂🥂 We’ve spent the last two decades chasing down Italy’s most soulful and sought-after bottles, and relishing in the opportunity to share them with you, on the shelves, at a tasting, or via Wine Club. But we’ve always also kept a secret (not really!) passion for Champagne (yes, from France!), focussing as ever on bottles with character and a strong sense of place, from storied grower-producers to smaller, up-and-coming vigernons worth knowing. Starting this August, we’re excited to bring our long-standing love of Champagne into the Wine Club fold. Every other month, we’ll share two bottles we’re excited about, along with the people, traditions, and stories behind each one. Same perks as our usual club – 10% off retail bottles, 15% off cases, free entry to weekly tastings, no corkage at the shop – just with more bubbles!

Getting the July calendar up to date with tastings from some of our longtime favorite producers and TWO amazing pop-ups! 🍷🥖🍷

July 16th : This week kicks off with the brand new drop of the wonderful, just the right-kind-of-wild wines of Mr. Giulio Armani, poured by Carlos Camacho of Brett Pallesen / 5:30-7:30pm

July 18th : Saturday sees the return of The Pasta Counter with a brand new menu full of summertime goodies (hello, Jimmy Nardellos) and wines by the glass. We’ll start slinging at noon and go til we sell out — come by before the game AND after! / 12- close

July 23rd : Lamoresca returns! We’ll have a full lineup of new releases from Fillipo Rizzi’s beautiful, biodiverse oasis in central Sicily, poured by Meredith Baird Fi**ne of Amy Atwood Selections / 5:30-7:30pm

July 30th : Scuola di Vino and Tyler Arford bring the fun and the funk with some natty classics and killer new finds. PLUS a very special porchetta pop-up starting at 6pm! / 5:30- come

Fresh from an icon of Emilia, Giulio Armani’s Denavolo wines are back! 🙌

Named for the mountain on which it stands, Denavolo lies in Emilia-Romagna’s Colli Piacentini, a rugged landscape of steep ridges and forested slopes overlooking the Trebbia Valley outside the city of Piacenza. The estate encompasses five hectares of vines planted between 350 and 500 meters above sea level on sandy, limestone-rich soils threaded with clay and marine sediments. Here, Giulio— longtime winemaker at the legendary, neighboring La Stoppa — works primarily with indigenous white varieties including Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Ortrugo, Marsanne, Trebbiano Romagnolo, and Santa Maria, many sourced from older vineyards that have long been adapted to these challenging hillsides.

The project emerged in 2005 as an opportunity to explore a different set of questions than those posed by the red wines of La Stoppa. While deeply rooted in local tradition, Denavolo is equally informed by Giulio’s fascination with the ancient history of white winemaking. All fermentations occur spontaneously with native yeasts, and extended skin contact is central to his approach, ranging from a few weeks to several months depending on the wine and vintage. Aging takes place in a combination of stainless steel, cement, and large neutral oak casks, with no fining, filtration, or additions beyond minimal sulfur when necessary. All these choices are, for him, simply the most direct path toward understanding what a vineyard has to say. It’s been a minute since we’ve had these wines in, so we are so excited to welcome them back to fold just in time for all your summer shindigs!

New new new! 😍 It’s summer time but we’re not slowing down with new producers and new releases all season long…
+ Very excited to bring the wines of Alberto Oggero into the fold; beautiful Roero Arneis and Nebbiolo, including some single site, centenary vines. Pristine!
+ Matteo Furlani always seems to have something new up his sleeve — this time it’s sparkling Schiava. Fun!
+ After a top-tier visit to Deperu Holler, we couldn’t wait to get some of their bottles in the shop; salty, supple, vibrant Vermentino that radiates the warmth and generosity of Carlo and Tati. Absolutely delightful!
