Pinot Noir of the World

September 4 - 5

This Friday and Saturday we’ll be pouring a broad selection of Pinot Noir from around the World. The three imports include a Burgundy, a Spätburgunder from Germany and a Central Otago Pinot Noir from New Zealand. In the domestic corner we have a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and two Sonoma County Pinot Noirs. You can purchase any of these w**es on our website.

We will also be pouring an optional 99-Point Wayfarer single-vineyard (“The Traveler”) Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Only 3 bottles left for sale.

We always advise to bring food to these tastings to maximize your experience !

Normal Friday tasting hours are 3pm to 6pm. Saturday tasting hours are 10:30am to 3:00pm. If the w**es have not run out by 3:00pm on Saturday, they will continue to be poured until 5:15pm.

2018 Hickinbotham

This is another exceptional w**e from Hickinbotham with perfect storage in a distributor’s warehouse. The 2018 Hickinbotham “The Peake” Cabernet-Shiraz is the premier w**e from Hickinbotham and comes from the historic Clarendon Vineyard in McLaren Vale, Australia. Planted in 1971, this vineyard is famous for producing highly elegant and balanced w**es. A long-time grower, Hickinbotham started to bottle its own w**e in 2012. Previously, some of its famous McLaren Vale Shiraz grapes were sold to Penfolds and blended into the legendary Grange. The Peake is named in honor of Edward John Peake who planted the first vineyard in McLaren Vale in 1850. The blend consists of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Shiraz.

As soon as we tasted this w**e, we made an offer to take it all and best of all was the price. The LOWEST online price is $185 with an MRSP of $229 and we have it at less than 1/3 of MSRP. The only issue was the quantity available, this will go fast and you don’t want to miss it. Snagging a 99-point flagship w**e normally priced close to $200 for $74.95 is a no-brainer buy if you enjoy premium Australian reds.

Super Tuscan Tasting

Friday & Saturday, August 7 - 8

The tasting this Friday and Saturday will feature six Super w**es from the Tuscany region. Super Tuscan is a term for high-quality Italian red w**es from Tuscany that break traditional rules, often by blending Sangiovese with international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot. This rebellious category emerged in the 1970s as w**emakers sought to create premium w**es outside the strict Italian DOC/DOCG regulations, resulting in bold, complex w**es with international appeal, such as the legendary Super Tuscans, Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Solaia.

We’ll also be offering the 2019 Bibi Graetz “Testamatta” 20th Anniversary Label Toscana IGT as an additional choice. “Testamatta” – “crazy-head” in Italian - well describes the positive, creative, and passionate Bibi Graetz.
