Hey neighbors! Hope everyone had a great 4th! We missed seeing you all, but we're back for the remainder of the season and excited to present our next performance by Full Strength! From the funk of Stevie Wonder to old-school hip hop from Salt-N-Pepa, Latin favorites from Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin and horn-driven legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, plus current chart-toppers like Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, and Doja Cat, Full Strength brings it all! They are ALWAYS a crowd favorite and keep everybody dancing. Hope to see you on Friday, August 1!

We have meetings this month on Thursday, July 10th and July 24th. The meeting on the 24th features a guest speaker from the District Attorney's office, all about fraud prevention and avoiding scams.

Meetings at 5:30 p.m., Palisades Church at 6301 Birchwood Street. Dinner included, open to the public.

Our next meeting, Thursday, June 5th, will be dedicated to the memory of Gene Elmore, who passed away last month at the age of 101.

Please invite any guests or friends of Gene who would like to share favorite stories or anecdotes about our 56-year member and WWII veteran.

We lost a giant today. At age 101, Gene Elmore has earned his wings.

A World War 2 Navy pilot, Gene flew hundreds of missions over the Pacific and European theaters in the Allied war effort. He was there over Normandy in support of D-Day, June 6, 1944, and after the war, he flew humanitarian aid missions during the Berlin Airlift.

He spent more time with our club than any other member, staying with G.A.G. Kiwanis for 56 years. He is a past President and past Lt. Governor, having received nearly every award and accolade we could think to bestow upon him. He was a leader in every sense, helping to guide and direct us, influencing and inspiring countless other members during his time with our club. He was an innovator and a hard worker, living the quintessential American life.

This week's meeting is our Scholarship Night, as we honor our qualifying graduates from Patrick Henry High School with some financial aid to the college of their choice.
